Locks using the iLoch™ system
look like any other lock. The main differences are they are "smart",
they are connected to the web and to LochIsle web services, and
they don't use traditional keys.
iLoch owners simply log into a LochIsle secure web account to identify lock users who are allowed to access their premises. No keys or access cards are issued, no personal contact is necessary.
If a lock owner wishes to modify, suspend or cancel access privileges this is done by simply logging into his or her account and changing the access profile of a lock user. There is never a need to retrieve a key or access pass from the lock user nor is there a need to re-key the lock.
Premise access privileges can be uniquely defined for every lock user, providing enhanced security with no effort. Lock users - such as family members - can have unlimited access while other users - such as service staff - can be restricted to certain times, certain days, or certain locks.
All of the activity related to accessing the premises is reported to the lock owner. Alerts can be set up if expected accesses do not take place (e.g., your child did not return home from school on time). Similar alerts can be provided when unanticipated access attempts are made (e.g., an employee tried to enter your business premises outside of their regular schedule).
Lock users, meanwhile, simply log into their LochIsle secure web account to register their own unique
iButton . An iButton can be ordered through LochIsle or can be purchased at many local locksmith locations and an increasing number of electronics retail outlets. Users need only one iButton for any iLoch-enabled lock - regardless of who owns it - because the same iButton will open all the doors to which they have been granted access.
When a lock user has been denied access to a particular lock, they can still open any remaining permitted locks with their unique iButton - all other locks are not affected.
If a lock user loses their iButton, they simply replace it with a new one and register the change on their secure web account. All locks will immediately accept the new code and refuse the old one. A lock owner does not need to be involved.
If all locks in the world used the iLoch system, lock users would need only one iButton for all of the locks in their life! Lock owners would be liberated from the responsibility of physically managing keys and access cards and having to re-key locks. Lock owners would also be provided with up-to-date information about premises access and be instantly alerted as critical access events take place.
