INDEPENDENT QUALITY OF LIFE MEANS STAYING IN YOUR HOME

Access Control in the home care environment presents a unique set of challenges because home care recipients must maintain security of their home while "opening it up" to variety of service providers throughout the day. The iLoch™ system provides the sophistication of commercial enterprise access control solutions in an affordable and easy-to-use manner for the home. Specifically, home care recipients need access control that provides

  • Flexible, temporary home access to multiple caregivers. Caregiver assignments often change and it becomes necessary to transfer access to a different caregiver. Transfer is done easily from the web and there is no need to physically transfer keys. Home care recipients have the choice to grant access themselves to specific caregivers or assign access management to a family member or a home care service provider. For increased security, permissions can be further restricted to within specific time/day parameters so that access will be denied at any other time.

  • Enable emergency access when needed. Allow fire, police, and ambulance access to the home in cases of emergency. If permitted, a family member can unlock the door remotely from their office or home should an emergency situation arise. Alternatively, access can be integrated with an Emergency Response Service Provider in some areas. Saving time to gain entry can literally be a life-saving matter while, at the very least, can spare unnecessary costs should emergency response be forced to break down doors or windows to gain entry.

  • Increase peace of mind to friends and family. If desired, friends or family may be advised by phone, email, or pager when a caregiver arrives (or does not arrive) at the home, thus providing added assurance that the home care recipient's needs are appropriately met. This can be particularly important when respite is heavily dependent on the coordination of friends and family who may more easily encounter schedule disruptions.

  • Improved audit control for home care providers. Access times and durations of all home care providers entering the premise are recorded, providing increased control and security to service organizations.
Caregivers' access is managed through an access management portal and workers can be reassigned to new homes without the need to physically transfer keys or other passes. When a home care worker's employment ends, their access credential is simply "turned off" once and access to all homes to which they were assigned are instantly removed.

  • Low cost installation and administration. Home care recipients or their family members pay a one-time hardware installation fee comparable to any quality door lock and thereafter pay a nominal monthly service fee. (Fees may be subsidized in some jurisdictions.)

  • More individuals can stay in their home. The need to manage numerous keys assigned to a revolving door of caregivers may unfortunately be a deterrent to individuals staying in their homes. Alternative intercom-based solutions are only suitable for those individuals who are awake and alert enough to distinguish between caregivers and intruders. The iLoch™ system, however, eliminates both concerns - enabling individuals with higher levels of disability to maintain their quality of life by staying in their homes.
